How often do you want to come? My personal and professional belief is that everyone needs or wants something a little bit different. There is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to how often you should attend therapy. The right frequency depends on your needs, circumstances, goals, and what feels manageable for you. Here are a few things to consider:
1. What is financially manageable for you?
Consider your available benefits, budget, and how you would like to use your therapy coverage throughout the year. We can work together to find a frequency that provides meaningful support while remaining financially sustainable.
2. What fits into your life?
Think about how much time you realistically have available for therapy. For some people, weekly sessions feel helpful, while others may prefer every two weeks or once a month. The goal is to find a rhythm that works for you.
3. What is happening in your life right now?
Consider the level of support you feel you need at this point in your life. During periods of increased stress, change, or emotional difficulty, more frequent sessions may feel beneficial. When life feels more stable, you may find that less frequent sessions are enough.
4. Consider “front-loading” your therapy.
For some clients, meeting more frequently at the beginning can help build momentum, establish therapeutic strategies, and create a foundation for change. As you begin to feel more confident and experience progress, sessions can gradually become less frequent while focusing on maintaining the changes you have made.
5. There is no pressure to maintain a specific schedule.
Therapy should work for you—not become another obligation. Once we begin working together, there is no expectation that you maintain a particular frequency or consistency of appointments in order to access support in the future. You are welcome to return whenever you feel therapy would be helpful.
6. Taking a break can be part of the process.
When life feels stable and manageable, taking a therapeutic break or reducing the frequency of sessions can be a healthy and empowering part of your journey. Therapy is not about becoming dependent on your therapist. It is also about developing trust in yourself—your ability to reflect, make decisions, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change.
Ultimately, therapy is your journey. We can regularly check in about what is working for you and adjust the frequency of sessions as your needs change. My goal is to support you in a way that feels helpful, sustainable, and empowering.

Yes. Sessions can occur in office, in nature on local trails, or on the farm where my coworkers are horses, 2 pot bellied pigs, cats, chickens, ducks, and other creatures of nature on property. I cannot guarantee an allergy free space. Furry coworkers are not rideable, but love to be scratched, groomed, petted, and accepting of treats.
Many insurance policies provide insurance coverage for one of the following – Registered Psychotherapists (Me!). Some policies, however, only cover Registered Psychologists and/or Registered Social Workers (Not Me!).
If you are relying on insurance coverage for our sessions, please check your coverage prior to booking a session. You will need to pay up front and submit your receipts for reimbursement to your insurance company.
In order to check if you are covered for my services, please read your insurance policy carefully. Even better, call your provider or submit a pre-approval online to confirm coverage.
